L40 Ultra Gen 2 Instructions to Prepare and Use Mop Cycle
I'd appreciate help to get instructions about what soap, how much, and how to prepare L40 Ultra Gen 2 to use mop cycle. Disappointed that the info is not clearly provided in User Manual.

I have the same question. Please reply to this thread, as until I find out differently I'm using plain water that doesn't clean very well.

Here are instructions per my research: Preparing and running a mop cycle on the Dreame L40 Ultra Gen 2 requires setting up the base station, preparing the robot, and configuring the cycle.
1. Prepare the Base Station & Solution
* Fill the Clean Water Tank:
* Open the base station top lid, remove the clean water tank (usually transparent/light blue), and fill it with tap water up to the MAX line.
* Do not fill with hot water to prevent warping the tank seal.
* Add Cleaning Solution:
* Dedicated Cartridge: If using the auto-dispensing cleaning solution cartridge, insert it into the center compartment of the dock until it clicks into place.
* Manual Addition: If filling directly into the tank, use only official Dreame multi-surface floor cleaning solution (typically 1–2 capfuls per full tank). Avoid third-party cleaners, vinegar, or harsh chemicals, which can corrode internal pumps or foul the washboard sensors.
* Check the Washboard & Dirty Water Tank:
* Ensure the washboard tray and filter screen are fully snapped into the bottom of the base station chassis.
* Confirm the dirty water tank (dark grey/black) is completely empty and securely closed.
2. Prepare the Robot
* Attach the Mop Pads:
* Snap the round magnetic mop pads onto the bottom extending arms until they click into place.
* Clear the Floor Zone:
* Pick up loose charging cables, small socks, or lightweight rugs with frayed edges to prevent the side brush or extendable mop arm from catching.
* Verify Carpet Protection Settings in the App:
* Open the Dreamehome app.
* Go to Dock / Cleaning Settings \rightarrow Carpet Handling strategy:
* Mop Auto-Lifting: The robot will automatically raise its mop pads (up to 10.5 mm) when detecting low-pile carpets.
* Avoid Carpet: Best for thick or plush carpets to ensure the wet pads never touch them.
* Mop Detaching / Auto-Removal: If enabled, the robot will leave the mop pads behind at the base station before vacuuming carpeted rooms.
3. Run the Mop Cycle

In the Dreamehome app, choose your desired cleaning mode:
Mop Only: Ideal for a silent or routine wet-wipe without running the vacuum motor.
Vac & Mop: Simultaneous vacuuming and mopping for daily upkeep.
Vac then Mop: Recommended for heavy dust or pet hair; vacuums all hard floors dry first, then returns to the dock to attach/wet the mops for a fresh wash.
2. Customize Mop Parameters
App Customization
Adjust settings before tapping Start:
Water Volume: Low, Medium, or High depending on floor material (e.g., lower moisture for delicate laminate/hardwood, higher for tile).
Mop Washing Frequency: Set auto-wash intervals by square footage (e.g., every 100–150 sq ft) or By Room so cross-contamination between rooms is minimized.
Mop Extend (FlexArm): Keep enabled for edge-to-edge cleaning along baseboards and under low-clearance furniture.
3. Initiate the Cycle
App or Physical Button
Tap Start in the app, or briefly press the Power button on the top of the robot while docked.
4. Post-Cleaning & Maintenance Notes
* Self-Washing & Refilling: During and after the run, the robot automatically returns to the base station to wash its mop pads with hot water and refill its internal tank.
* Auto Hot-Air Drying: Once finished, the dock automatically kicks off a hot-air drying cycle (usually 2–4 hours) to dry the pads and prevent mold or odor.
* Empty Dirty Water: Dispose of dirty water promptly after long runs to keep the dock fresh.-1
