"Please follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Verify that the basic requirements are met:
- Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
- Location services are enabled on your phone, and the Dreame App’s location permissions are set to ""Always Allow"" and ""Precise Location.""
- The app is running in the background (Android users: do not clear the app’s background processes).
2. Verify the ""Leave and Return"" process:
- Geofencing requires you to first leave your home (we recommend walking at least 200 meters). Wait until the app displays the ""Away"" status, then return to trigger the feature.
- If you simply go downstairs to retrieve mail or step out for a short distance (without leaving the geofence), the system will not trigger automatic unlocking.
3. Check your phone’s power-saving mode:
- If your phone is in power-saving mode, it may restrict background location tracking and Bluetooth scanning. Please turn off power-saving mode and try again.
- Android users: Go to ""Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization"" and set the Dreame App to ""Do Not Optimize.""
- iOS users: Ensure that ""Background App Refresh"" is enabled for the app.
4. Check Wi-Fi settings:
- Even if you are not connected to Wi-Fi, we recommend keeping Wi-Fi turned on, as this helps improve GPS location accuracy.
- If you are using public Wi-Fi at an office or hotel, it may affect location accuracy; we recommend switching to mobile data.
5. Reset:
- Turn off the geofence feature in the app, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on.
- If the above methods do not work, please remove the door lock device and re-pair it, then set up the geofence again.
6. Notes for Special Environments:
- Geofences rely on horizontal GPS positioning and do not support floor detection. If you live in a high-rise apartment, GPS positioning may not be accurate enough, resulting in location trigger errors.
- When the parking garage is close to your front door, you may need to move a greater distance away to trigger the geofence.
If the troubleshooting steps above fail, please note the following:
1) The geofencing feature relies on the mobile operating system, Bluetooth, and GPS location to unlock the device. However, due to operating system limitations, the app may fail to wake up the phone when the screen is locked, preventing unlocking. Therefore, we recommend that customers unlock their phones after entering the designated area. When the phone is unlocked, the geofencing feature has a 100% success rate for automatic unlocking.
2) iOS: Versions 16.6 and earlier support seamless unlocking; newer versions require the phone to be unlocked first before unlocking can proceed, such as iOS 26.4.
Android: Seamless unlocking is supported, though unlocking may occasionally fail."
