Why is my machine not producing steam?

"A. Please ensure the clean water tank has sufficient water. 
B. Select ""Steam Wash"" or ""Steam"" mode. The icon will flash to indicate steam preparation; wait about 35 seconds until it stays solid, then steam is ready. 
C. To prevent scale buildup, descale the machine every 6 months using the included citric acid descaler as per the manual."
