This is normal and nothing to worry about. The humidifier filter contains a broad-spectrum antibacterial and anti-egg formula that may produce a slight odor. This will dissipate on its own after about a week of use. If you find it bothersome, you can place the filter in the washing machine or hand wash it with a mild detergent for a quick rinse to remove the odor. After washing, there's no need to air-dry it—simply place it back in the machine, add water, and use as usual.
