The primary cause of this phenomenon is the growth of toxic bacteria on the humidifier filter after prolonged use in a humid environment. We recommend removing the humidifier filter, soaking it in an appropriate amount of sodium citrate solution for one hour (a small amount of detergent may be added), then air-drying it thoroughly. This process should eliminate the odor.
